|“||I don't have any deal breakers. I've done so much in my life, it doesn't feel right to judge other people. Oh, I know one quality I won't tolerate. I would never be with a controlling guy||”|

— Demi on her personal life
|“||I felt relieved when i found out. Like in not completely crazy; there's a medical reason for all of it. It's a daily thing; you don't get time off from it. And if i feel myself slipping back into old patterns, I have to ask others for help, which is hard for me to learn because I really like doing everything on my own.||”|
— Demi on her diagnosis of bipolar disorder
|“||I'm not super religious, but I grew up Christian and I believe in God. When I'm in L.A., I don't talk about it that much because people are very judgmental, but I just feel like God gave me a voice, not just to sing with. He put me through those things, which seemed horrible at the time, but they were so worth it. With the obstacles I've overcome, I can help people.||”|

|“||My family knows what it's about. When I'm ready to open up that subject with the outside world, then I'll be free to talk about it. But right now, it's kind of one of those things where the lyrics speak for me. It's all in the song.||”|

Your mind starts setting up the relapse before you take that drink or that first hit. The times we'd broken up, I had already gone to that place of, 'Yeah, this is what's happening.' I didn't realize it at the time, but I just wanted to sabotage everything around me so that I could sabotage myself.||”|
— Demi on being "off and on" for five years with then boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama
|“||We started dating when I turned 18 … Right after that, I went to rehab. People told him, 'You should probably leave. She's on a spiral, and you're going to be sucked down with it.' But he was like, 'I'm not leaving. This is somebody I really care about.' We relate on a lot of levels. I've seen a lot of shit. Shit people don't know about. He's seen a lot of stuff too.||”|
— Demi on Wilmer not throwing in the towel
|“||Nick and Wilmer get along great — Joe and Wilmer too. It's weird. In the beginning, I was like, 'Why the fuck are you friends with Joe?' He was like, 'He's a cool guy.' Yeah, I know. I dated him.||”|
— Demi on Wilmer not being the jealous type
|“||There are a lot of girls in pop. They have badass lyrics, but I feel like I'm the only person other than Rihanna and Nicki Minaj who isn't afraid to say, 'Try something on me and I'll fucking beat your ass.' There are people who can dress up and play the part, but their music doesn't say it.||”|
— Demi on her music
“I've been good, don't I deserve it?”
